Kenya DSW trains youth on entrepreneurship

25 Kenyan youth have benefited from a five day entrepreneurship training workshop conducted by DSW.

The training workshop, held between the 16th and 20th of May, 2016 in Kakamega County, Western Kenya, was conducted to train the youth on how to improve their entrepreneurship skills and was done in partnership with the County Government of Kakamega.

Officers from DSW and the County Government of Kakamega trained the youth on how they can plug into the business opportunities presented by the that the devolved system of government.

Additionally, the training gave the participants tips on how they can mentor other youth, especially those who are younger, in entrepreneurship.

This training workshop was conducted as part of DSW’s Youth-to-Youth (Y2Y) initiative work.

The Youth-to-Youth (Y2Y) Initiative offers an innovative response to the dynamic needs of young people between 10 to 24 years in East Africa. Through this programme, DSW works in close cooperation with young people with the aim of improving their knowledge, understanding and healthy practice of their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), as well as their socio-economic situation.
