On Friday 17 April 2015, during the project closeout workshop held at Bonita Training Centre, youth were advised to actively participate in democratic governance at all levels.
After two years of successfully implement the Youth Empowerment Services for Uganda, the project was officially closed. This event was graced by 100 young people who were beneficiaries and some of the achievements shared;
- Increased youth participation at district and sub county level, this was evident when young opposed the passing of the district budget (Tororo District ) because no budget vote was allocated to youth.
- Job opportunities for young people especially during the national housing and population census.
- DSW created a link between young people and their leaders thus creating an avenue for accessing funds under government funded programmes.
DSW was also awarded a
certificate of appreciation for supporting youth participation in governance in Jinja District.
