–  The journal Studies in Family Planning, published by the Population Council, launched a special edition this month focusing on “Unmet Need for Family Planning”. A comprehensive overview and introduction to all the issues involved, you can check it out here.

 

– The Global Multidimensional Poverty Index for 2014 has been published. Covering 108 low- and middle-income countries, the index looks at progress in areas such as inequality and rates of poverty. Read more here

Shannon Kowalski, Director of Advocacy and Policy at the International Women’s Health Coalition has written on the links between UHC and access to universal sexual and reproductive health in the post-2015 framework. Her paper is available here.

 

– The Council on Foreign Relations launched their Global Governance Report Card this month, and they have a dedicated section reviewing international policies on public health. The report highlights who is leading and who is falling behind, around the world. You can read its interesting assessments here.

 

– Debate continues on the MDGs and post-2015. A couple of new papers have been published online, which you can read here (at The Lancet) and here (from the Institute for Development Policy and Management at the University of Manchester).
