Eight non-governmental organisations, members of the European Immunisation and Vaccines Advocacy Coalition (EIVAC), came together on World Immunisation Week (WIW) 2014 to share their views on access to immunisation and the upcoming GAVI pre-replenishment meeting in Brussels.

The outcome is a position paper entitled “Improving access to immunisation: how the GAVI Alliance can make a difference. The paper – endorsed by DSW, Global Health Advocates, Results UK, One, World Vision, Path, Save the Children, and EIWH – calls on the European Union institutions and ACP group of states:

To support the GAVI Alliance in the context of its ongoing programming exercise by scaling up their contributions via the EU’s Development Cooperation Instrument (DCI) and the European Development Fund (EDF) to €50 million each year for the period 2015-2019

To ensure that the GAVI alliance positions equity and reducing inequities within countries as top priorities in its next strategy and business plan

To ensure that immunization is featured as a priority in the post 2015 development agenda
